ABSTRACT

In Fig. 10, the experimental results were also compared with the analytically predicted responses. Since the frame had gone through several tests where inelastic deformations and strain hardening of TADAS device had occurred, the analytical predicted responses do not exactly agree with the experimental results. However, considering the much better agreements in other earlier tests not discussed in this paper and that the TADAS device was modeled by an equivalent prismatic beam member using simple bilinear moment-rotation relationships [3], the overall agreements between these analytical and the experimental responses are entirely satisfactory.
