ABSTRACT
For isotropic elastic plane weakened by a periodic row of cracks, W. T. Koiter had studied the first fundamental problems by complex variable methods for the cases where the cracks are rectilinear and collinear ( in the direction of peri od) or parallel and perpendicular to the direction of period*-2 ,^ under very spe cial assumptions for the external stresses subjected on the cracks as well as those at infinity.
