ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In October 1907 occurred one of the biggest floods in the Ebro delta of the last 500 years. Until today, flood reconstruction and discharge calculations have been difficult as there was no numerical model capable of managing the amount of information of the entire Ebro floodplain. The advances in commercial software and integrated 1D-2D modelling techniques of the last 5 years have allowed reproducing the 1907 historical flood in the Ebro delta, achieving a good agreement with measured water level marks. This article reviews some key aspects of the historical flood modelling in the Ebro delta.
