ABSTRACT
An intersection (or junction) is a location where at least two different traffic streams cross
or merge and is an inevitable part of any conventional road system. The traffic to be
handled may include cars, trucks, bicycles, motorcycles and pedestrians — all with their
quite different response characteristics. Intersections between two greatly different types
of traffic or class of road should be handled with great care.
