Traffic control devices are provided to aid in providing safe, predictable, and orderly
movement of traffic. The messages that they are intended to convey to drivers and
pedestrians should be consistent with the other features of the road. Their specific use is
usually governed by regulations and warrants developed by the relevant traffic Authority.
