ABSTRACT
The planning, location and design of roads and bridges have been discussed in preceding
chapters. Once these tasks have been completed, the overall proposal accepted (Chapter
5), the funds obtained, and the land surveyed and acquired (Sections 6.1–3), the
construction phase can begin.
