ABSTRACT
There has been an increasing interest in the contribution of free radical reactions partici-
pating in reactive oxygen species to the overall metabolic perturbations that result in
tissue injury and disease. Reactive oxygen species are generated in specific organelles of
cells under normal physiological conditions.
