ABSTRACT

CRIOP (Crisis Intervention in Offshore Production) focuses on the actions of process plant operators and the role they play in maintaining barriers against major accidents. The method was developed in the late 1980s for usc during the design of new offshore installations and was influenced experiences from the Piper Alpha disaster in 1988 (Ingstad and Rodsberg, It has been further developed to include later technical developments and user expeflcnces.
