ABSTRACT

This chapter presents 21 experiments designed to provide hands-on experience, supplementing the concepts presented in this book. Although these experiments specifically use TTL ICs, they are general enough to be used with CMOS ICs. Several logic breadboards are commercially available that enable mounting ICs and interconnecting them with wires, without requiring any soldering. In addition to the ICs, wires, and a breadboard, the only other requirements are a TTL data book and a dual-trace oscilloscope. TTL data books are available from IC manufacturers, and some are listed in the references section at the end of this chapter. The references section also includes several books that introduce digital logic design through experiments. Those books can be consulted for further details on various aspects of the design, construction, and troubleshooting of digital circuits.
