ABSTRACT
For long-distance interconnections, like for information exchange between different production units and the head office o f the company, the Fiber Distrib uted Data Interface (FDDI) standard has later been accepted. I t enables informa tion transfer at a rate o f 100 MBPS at a distance o f up to 60 km.
