ABSTRACT
Stainless steels combine a metal's fabrication and service advantages with good corrosion resistance to a variety of atmospheres and environments. The alloys resist structural deterioration in many locations and are used in many applications such as food and pharmaceutical equipment where even small amounts of product contamination would be a severe concern. These alloys are widely produced in all the usual shapes and forms.
