ABSTRACT
Sacrificial metal coatings that add galvanic ability to the coating layer have been widely used. Coating materials that belong to this category are zinc, aluminum, manganese, cadmium, and their alloys, of which electrode potentials are more negative than those of iron and steel. The electrochemical properties of these metals provide cathodic pro tection for iron and steel substrates.
