ABSTRACT
No matter what instrument is used to measure a parameter there are two critical factors: accuracy and repeatability. A basic rule-of-thumb is that the measuring instrument should be at least ten times better than the process specification it is to measure. In other words, it should be at least ten times as repeatable and accurate as the process.
