REPORT 01 CPSC MONOGRAPH ON MONOAZO DYES AUG 81 C.I. PIGMENT ORANGE 5 WAS NEGATIVE IN DERMAL AND ORAL CARCINOGENICITY STUDIES IN DOGS AND MICE. FEEDING STUDIES EXAMINING REPRODUCTIVE AND TERATOGENIC EFFECTS WERE NEGATIVE IN RATS AND RABBITS. THERE WERE POSITIVE RESULTS IN THREE SEPARATE AMES TESTS FOR MUTAGENICITY.
