AS you look over the results of your plant’s operation you may be pleased with the process adjustments made. The effluent is clear and free of limit violations. Then it happens, the odor complaints come in from the community. Plant odors are one of the biggest concerns of the community. They need to be addressed promptly and efficiently if you have any desire to stay in good standing with the people living anywhere near the treatment plant. But how? There are a number of things to con­ sider and a number of options as well. The first thing to do is to learn about the different types of odors a wastewater treatment plant can produce and how each of them can be effectively treated.
