ABSTRACT
Urbanization accompanying industrialization developed in Changjiang Delta since 1980 can be divided largely into two patterns; expansion of the city areas in the existing cities such as Wuxi and Suzhou (abbreviated as expansion of the existing cities hereinafter) and expansion of town centers scattered in rural areas (abbreviated as town center hereinafter) (Fig. 7.1).
