ABSTRACT
The problem of agricultural restructuring and sustainable land use in Russia during the last period of economic and social reforms is of vital importance for two reasons: economic and environmental. Sustainable use of natural and social resources in Russian agriculture should bring essential economic benefits and save natural resources from exhaustion. On the other hand, ecologically sound agriculture should help to reconcile social needs with the requirements of the environment.
