ABSTRACT
The structure of a genome in its entirety can be understood through its sequencing. However, since genomes are several millions of bases (or megabases, see Profile 2) in size, it is necessary to combine the approaches of molecular biology, statistics, and informatics to be able to manage these millions of bases.
