ABSTRACT
Linking physically separate centers together is not new. The raw technology has been there for more than a decade — at least that long ago it was not unusual for a company to hardwire two centers together withT-1 lines. This was done for a number of reasons, including overflow, emergency backup, and often time-of-day coverage for companies with spread-out customer bases.
