ABSTRACT

Abstract In this work the influence of strain limitation produced from shear and axial forces on the cyclic behaviour of steel structural members subjected to bending moment,shear and axial force, is examined. By the definition of cyclic moment-curvature-axial force diagrams of critical cross-sections, the moment-rotation diagrams of members, modelled as rigid structures in which geometrical and mechanical properties are lumped in the above-mentioned sections., are determined. At last, taking into account the reduction of resistance and rigidity caused from the cyclic actions, the ductility values of structural members are examined varying the number of cycles, Keywords: Local Ductility, Cyclic Actions, Members.
