ABSTRACT

A complete synopsis of the test programme, chemical analyses of materials and a full list of cement formulations have previously been given[2]. However, to assist interpretation of the present paper, formulations of cements tested at BRE are given again in Table 1. It was previously noted that the limestone filler used with cement series E was deliberately chosen as an example of a limestone which would not be permitted by ENV 197-1 due to its high clay content. It should also be noted that cements G5 and H5 were inadvertently made by blending 5% limestone with RHPC rather than OPC. This was corrected by producing cements G5X and H5X but it was decided to retain G5 and H5 in the test programme.
