A change in clinker chemistry to reduce 28 day strength is normally precluded by the requirements of the market in terms of strength growth (particularly early strength), composition (eg silicates content, eq Na2O) and by economic consideration such as the cost of raw materials and the need to operate the kilns at maximum efficiency.
