ABSTRACT
Abstract The lecture is focused on a discussion of the physical possibility of the superdeep penetration of hypervelocity macro projectiles into a solid material. Section 1, Introduction, provides an overview of some papers on superdeep penetration. Section 2, Tests, treats some experimental evidence of the superdeep penetration of microparticles. Section 3, Theory, considers the analytical and numerical data in the field. In Section 4, it is concluded that superdeep penetration, of individual projectiles, not as yet observed experimentally, should exist. Discovery of superdeep penetration in macroscale would open the door for the wide exploration of fast-moving underground crafts, which was one of the dreams of the genius, Leonardo da Vinci.
