ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this review is to bring together and discuss properties of aggregates and their potential for affecting the aggregates' performance i n concrete. It is intended mainly for natural concrete aggregates i n the U K but, where appropriate, common problems w i t h aggregates overseas are mentioned where the local environment modifies the ways i n which the problems occur or develop.
