Numerous, ascertained during the last decades, cases of concrete structures decrease in durability or damage caused necessity of working out new cements and new technological-materials systems of repair which could ensure fast recovery of endangered buildings. To meet these problems special cement MPz, which is characterised by particularly beneficial features, was elaborated at IMMB Krakow. Thanks to very high kinetics of initial strength growth and high final strength it is exceptionally well suitable to repairs and reconstruction, In the paper its characteristic and examples of application have been presented. Keywords: cement, concrete, durability, reconstruction, corrosion. Stanislaw Peukert, Professor Dr hab. Eng., Scientific Director of Institute for Mineral Building Materials Cracow Division. Specialist in technology of special and ordinary cement, author of many patents and applications of new technologies in Polish cement plants, author of over 100 publications on production, properties and application of cement, co-author of MPz class cement. Janusz Mierzwa, Dr hab. Eng., Professor of Cracow University of Technology, director of Concrete Technology Laboratory, author of tens of publications on concrete and concrete structures. Henryk Mroz, MSc. Eng., Head of Concrete Investigation Laboratory at IMMB, specialist in technology and application of cement, co-author of MPz class cement.
