ABSTRACT
The design of treatment plants must pay attention to several points when colour or turbidity of the raw water are high. The plant must have a large capacity for coagulant storage, supply and dosing; very good initial mixing of the coagulant and raw water must be achieved; and other factors must be considered relating specifically to colour and turbidity as described below.
