ABSTRACT
Cartographers are creators of maps. While maps have traditionally represented the terrestrial environment, mapping today extends to extraterrestrial objects as well as to artificial (data-space) environments. Maps organize spatial information for use in performing tasks, such as way-finding, and are enhanced symbolically and geometrically to accomplish a wide range of spatial tasks.
