ABSTRACT
Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic assessment forms a fundamental component of the early clinical evaluation of new medicines. This chapter focuses on the use of healthy volunteers and patients to obtain such measurements and discusses how this information should be used, in conjunction with pre-clinical animal data, in making decisions on drug efficacy and safety.
