ABSTRACT
Studies of the behavior of pesticides in soil and the environmental fate studies of pesticides are important in assessing the potential environmental hazards. Following normal agricultural applications, pesticides are broken down in the soil by chemical, photochemical and biological activity. The microbial transformation of xenobiotics can be defined as the structural modification of components foreign to an organism’s metabolism which occur in its chemical environment.
