ABSTRACT
For each new drug in development, the sponsor company creates a project team to decide what studies need to be performed and who should do them, and then to oversee the progress of the studies. Some very senior scientists, physicians, statisticians and project planners might be involved in the team, but the person who will interact most closely with the investigator is the monitor.
