Yes, you do need to get the customer to your site and have the product displayed that the customer is searching for. But getting that customer to the site and displaying a product is not the same as having the product on hand ready to ship to the customer in a fast, efficient, and flawless manner — err in your performance of that segment of the business process and the customer waves bye-bye! Effective fulfillment requires a comprehensive logistics and fulfillment plan mapping business processes and technology so that they mesh into a cohesive unit. The traditional business model o f functional handoffs between autonomous business units will not work in e-business.
