Hypothesis Testing

In this chapter we will consider again the five applications we looked at in Chapter 9 (see Sections 9-3, 9.4, 9*8, 9.10, and 9.11), but this time in terms of testing hypotheses about the various parameters. We end the chapter by discussing the connection between the two branches of infer­ ence (see the dashed line in Fig. 10.1).
