ABSTRACT
The legislation that may face a small-scale hydro-power developer with regard to water could be considered to be formidable. The matters that are covered by legislation are: abstraction; pollution prevention; land drainage; impounding; and fisheries. Furthermore, there are ten Water Authorities that administer the application of the legislation in their respective areas in England and Wales. These authorities and various other bodies were consulted by the working group.
