ABSTRACT
Nowadays, pervaporation is a term widely used to designate a membrane process which makes possible the separation of a liquid mixture by partly vaporizing it through a non-porous permselective membrane. The feed mixture is circulated in contact with the membrane and the permeate is evolved, in the vapor state, from the opposite side of the barrier which is kept under vacuum by continuous pumping, or swept with a stream of gas.
