ABSTRACT

A number of references (e.g. 1, 7-10, 17, 24, 25, 32, 35) discuss the different methods of pump and pipe wear testing and measurement, with their inherent advantages and limitations.

Most data have been obtained from laboratory simulation tests, as it is very difficult to measure the effects in isolation in practical systems, due to interaction between the various factors involved; hence, such data can usually be applied only in fairly general or comparative terms.
