ABSTRACT

The total displacement can be divided into three co m ­ ponents, bending, shear and local displacement. The bending displacement can be obtained in the same way as generally cal­ culated from the experimental results, namely by doubly in­ tegrating the average curvature of the Gauss points along the height of wall calculated on the assumption that plane sec­ tions before bending remain plane after bending. The local displacement can be obtained as that due to pulling out of bars from the footing, shear displacement along the top sur­ face of the footing, and the local sinking of the column into
