ABSTRACT

Table 1 summarizes the comparison of measured values in the tests and calculated values using above equations. Measured shear stress is an average value, determined by the shear force divided by the effective web area of the wall section. Measured shear strain is also an average value, determined in the following way. First the flexural deformation was determined by integrating measured curvatures at each horizontal segment of the wall. Then the shear deformation was determined by subtracting the flexural deformation from the measured total deformation, and it was then divided by the wall height.
