ABSTRACT

On the base of the experimentally obtained results on full-scale structures and numerical analysis this paper gives some conclusions about the behavior of tall shear walls in the prefabricated combined system as well as the behavior of the system itself. It was concluded from the full-scale tests that only frames in the upper parts of this structure are participating in resisting forces induced by earthquakes. The mathematical modeling of these structures has also been performed. This included modeling of non-structural elements. It was created an additional vertical shear element simulating the influence of non-structural partition walls on the overall stiffness of the building. Analytical investigations included linear and nonlinear time-history analysis. A fair correlation of the results obtained analytically and experimentally was observed.
