ABSTRACT

Cold formed steel structural members form an important and growing area of the constructional steelwork field. Such members are formed in the cold state from strip steel, generally by cold rolling, and have a multiplicity of applications. Among the major applications in the construction industry are roof purlins and sheeting rails (Fig. 1), roof and wall cladding (Fig. 2), lattice beams (Fig. 3), stud walling (Fig. 4), flooring systems (Fig. 5) and storage racking (Fig. 6).
