ABSTRACT
A new trend in storm water management is to control the runoff at its source rather than collecting and conveying it by a drainage system into a detention or retention basin. Source control practices include, but are not limited to, low-impact development (LID); use of permeable pavements, rain gardens, rain barrels, and cisterns; and disconnection of paved areas.
