ABSTRACT

The control of the quantity of water onto solid surfaces is the key of many industrial processes. Once the water is present, it can modify lubrication, catalysis, adhesion, packing, etc. Hence to correctly characterize the surface of solids, it is often necessary to quantify the wetting properties of solids. The general behavior of a solid in contact with some defined fluids, such as oils, acids, etc., can also be of general interest.
