ABSTRACT

The peak desorption temperature of 233K is only slightly less than that of cyclododecanone, and this yields a desorption energy of 58.7±0.2kJ/mol (cf. Fig. 40). The optical spectra of Fig. 41 show behavior reminiscent of the shorter chain cycloalkanones in that the intensity increases dramatically after being annealed at temperatures near desorption. From that which is observed in Fig. 42, the top of the envelope in the ladder experiment is consistent with the optical spectra of Fig. 41, and the bottom reflects the optical TPDs of Fig. 43.
