ABSTRACT
In the preceding chapters, we developed a theory of integration based on a theory of measurable sets. The notion of the measure of a set was in turn based on the primitive and classical notion of the measure (or volume) of an interval in Rn; this led almost automatically by the process of covering to the notion of measure for more general sets.
