ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at a few of the more popular digital media sources available. Digital media has come together as a result of convergence between many different fields and subjects. What used to be walls between disciplines have broken down, resulting in a new core for digital media. Digital photography arose quickly and effectively to literally obliterate the older analog camera and film combination. The terms computer game, digital game, and console game are used interchangeably. Digital media has also created whole new industries, electronic gaming to name one, which has sprouted from a seed into a giant tree, apparently overnight, as a result of this convergence. The digital revolution, with its child, digital media, is widespread and growing and has support from the young, the old, and corporate America. All see different benefits and representations of digital media, but all see it as the future.
