ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology refers to the fabrication and application of nanoscale substances, devices, and systems generated by controlling the structure at the atomic, molecular, and supramolecular level. The National Nanotechnology Initiative (a U.S. federal program to coordinate basic molecular nanotechnological research and development) refers to nanotechnology as “the understanding and control of matter at dimensions of roughly 1-100 nm, where unique phenomena enable novel applications.”
