We introduced the classification problem in Section 1.17, and then covered the logistic model for classification in some detail in Section 4.3. But in the classification problems we’ve discussed so far, we have assumed just two classes. The patient either has the disease in question, or not; the customer chooses to buy a certain item, or not; and so on.
