ABSTRACT

Mecanim is an expansive, complicated system (alternately described as “rich and sophisticated” in the manual). Like all other complicated systems in Unity, it oen suers from having “too-many-dials.” e good news is that like PlayMaker, Mecanim is a state machine, and so while the interface is dissimilar, the underlying philosophy is the same. It does have some very valuable uses and it is worth the time and eort needed to learn it. In this chapter, we will cover steps one through four.
