ABSTRACT

Blender includes the tools to create interactive video games. The program integrates realtime motion with physics and logic blocks, allowing you to turn objects into actors and move them around. This process also incorporates character animation and interactive walk throughs where doors open and close. The game engine is extensive in its application and it is not possible to cover all of its intricacies in this manual. This chapter, as the title states, is an introduction, which will allow you to research and experiment and become proficient. We will begin with a very basic example where an object is designated as an “Actor” and provided with controls to move it in the scene.
