ABSTRACT

The graphical user interface (GUI) is the arrangement of windows and panels that allow “you,” the operator, to interact with the computer program. In the early days of computing interaction, this took place purely by entering keyboard commands. This type of operation is still in use when DOS applications are used where “Command Line” input is required. With computer graphics, by enlarge, windows type systems are employed, which use a graphical display, hence “Graphical User Interface” (GUI).
