ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on how visual experience will affect the user interface and provides options to expand the possible user group. There are so many types of hierarchical menus for interfaces, from basic to complex, that it would be impossible to generalize how to implement accessibility for all of them. One main concern is when the user is left-handed. According to Hardyck and Petrinovich, 10" of the population is left-handed. It is important to study, analyze, and resolve accessibility issues for left-handed people, whether they are using a mouse or interacting with a multitouch interface or virtual reality. The tools are very helpful in interfaces with a lot of text or spoken words, respectively, for blind or hard-of-hearing persons. Provide a setting to enable these tools under accessibility. Many more accessibility needs will vary with user needs. Meeting many of these needs will depend on the interface designer to help resolve the problem visually.
